  • What is an e-bike?

    An e-bike is just like a regular bike except it has a motor, battery and computer microprocessors that operate together to assist when you need extra power such as when the e-bike meets resistance in momentum, due to going uphill or taking on extra weight load.

  • What is it like to ride an e-bike?

    Riding an e-bike is like riding a conventional bike downhill, even when you are going uphill. Your guides will instruct you on how to optimise the advantage of the electric motor, making it near effortless and fun to traverse the Peninsula.

  • How fast is an e-bike?

    By law, power assistance cancels at 25kph. So e-bikes only go slightly faster when at their maximum which for skilled riders is well within safety margins. That said, speed is relative to experience and you should always stay within the limit that ensures you are in control and able to stop, avoid any obstacles or people.

  • How safe is riding an e-bike?

    Riding an e-bike presents the same dangers as riding a conventional bike. There is the possibility of falling off and/or hurting yourself so it is important to ride within your abilities. All our guides are first aid trained and offer assistance and helpful tips along the way to help you enjoy the journey more.

  • Are there toilets?

    There are public toilets at Seawinds Gardens at the start of the ride, at Red Hill, mid-way through our ride, and in Merricks at the end of the ride. Please make sure you take the opportunity to go to the toilet before we commence our journey.

  • What if I change my mind about a booking?

    It all depends on the timing and the situation. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions.

  • Can I bring my kids?

    We love hosting the more youthful. We have two 24inch e-bikes specifically for them. Our minimum age is 8 years old (125cm height minimum). We ask that each child be accompanied and supervised by an adult.

  • What if I want to stop riding?

    If by chance you have a change of heart or do not want to continue riding we can arrange for our shuttle bus to pick you up and take you to the Merricks Station Reserve where our tour ends to meet up with your fellow riders.

  • What if it rains?

    We are an outdoor adventure company and operate in all weather conditions – it can be fun getting down and dirty with a bit of mud. There are times where we may need to cancel due to extreme weather conditions. Refer to our Terms and Conditions for further details.

  • How far/long is the tour?

    The Bay to Bay tour is approximately 16km, and the McIlroys tour is approximately 21km, both tours take approximately 2 to 3 hours. The OT tour is approximately 3 to 3.5 hours.

  • What do I need to bring?

    When you come on a tour it is important to wear the right clothing. We recommend comfortable loose fitting clothing you are willing to get a little dirty and a long sleeve shirt to protect your arms from sunburn. Good comfortable shoes that enclose your feet are a must, no thongs, sandals or heels.

    We also recommend that you bring a water bottle and sunscreen.

  • Where do we meet to start our adventure?

    All our tours start at the Seawinds Gardens Mountain Bike Carpark. Seawinds is at 12 Purves Road Arthurs Seat. The mountain bike carpark is immediately inside the front gate to the left. Look out for the red and white Red Hill Trail Co shuttle bus.
